Good friends, good food and great stories.

The 2012 Argus Leader Tour de Kota™ will be held June 17–22, with the route beginning and ending in Dell Rapids, SD. This year’s tour will be a challenging ride full of inspiring prairie vistas, rolling hills and heartfelt community support.

Each year Tour de Kota™ travels the back roads and byways of our beautiful state of South Dakota. This year’s bonus is that we’ll also get to experience the lush farmlands of Iowa and Minnesota. An overnight stay outside South Dakota is a first. Marshall, Minnesota is welcoming the tour with open arms.

The outpouring of hospitality from each overnight community will leave a lasting impression. Riders are also touched by the kindness of dozens of small towns and cities long the way. It’s good friends, good food and cycling stories that will last forever.

It’s a great day for a bike ride! Let’s go!

The Argus Leader Tour de Kota™ is offering something new in 2012. It is a one-day, 45-mile ride. The ride will start at 8am at Sertoma Park in Sioux Falls, SD. The ride will jump on the bike trail and cruise along the Big Sioux River in Sioux Falls. After passing several parks, the Great Plains Zoo, and a couple golf courses we’ll head west and find a few hills. The ride will go north through Hartford and circle back to the bike trail and return to Sertoma Park. There will be stops along the way to refuel and soak in the countryside. The entire route will be marked and sag support will be provided except on the bike trail.
